Mis-Sold Financial Product
If you’ve been mis-sold a financial product, you may be facing higher costs, unsuitable terms, or long-term financial strain.
Do I Have a Claim?
If any of these factors apply, you could be entitled to claim compensation:
- Failure to Conduct Proper Affordability Checks: If the lender did not assess whether you could afford the repayments, the product may have been mis-sold.
- Offering an Inappropriate Financial Product: If you were sold a product that didn’t meet your needs.
- Undisclosed Fees or Costs: Hidden charges that were not clearly explained.
- Misleading Information About Terms: If the lender provided inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Pressured Sales Tactics: If you were pressured into taking out a financial product.
- Failure to Explain the Risks: If the risks associated with your financial product were not clearly outlined.
- Selling Inappropriate Products: If you were sold a high-risk product that did not suit your financial situation.
If you believe you were misadvised or the terms of your policy were not properly explained, you can file a complaint with the firm that sold you the product.
How Do I Claim?
You should write or email the firm that sold you the policy/contract directly. More information can be found on their website. When making the complaint, provide as much detail as possible, include supporting paperwork, and keep copies.
If the firm rejects your case, you have the option to escalate the claim to the Financial Ombudsman Service. However, YOU MUST do this within 6 MONTHS of the firm’s decision letter.
